A Brief Guide to Your Parish Council

Datchet Parish Council
-
Owns and maintains much of the "open space" in the Village, such as the recreation ground, village greens, cemetry, and the riverbank near the Boatyard.
-
Owns and leases properties which are either used or let out to third parties for the benefit of the Village. These properties include The Bridge at 24 The Green, the Village Hall, the Library and Police Point at Montagu House, the Youth Club, Cemetry Lodge and Cemetry Chapel.

Maintains and manages the grounds and property assets, and develops new facilities, which in recent years have included the new Library, floodlighting of the ball-court, renovation of the children's play area, the chair store and toilets at the Village Hall, refurbishment of 24 The Green and repair of the London Road milestone.

Provides a voice for the Village on policy matters in dealings with the Royal Borough, eg Parking control, Flood and Planning issues etc.

Proposed traveller site - Friday, December 7, 2012
The RBWM is consulting on a possible new traveller site on land behind the houses in Horton Road and Cobb Close. This item will be considered at the next Datchet Parish Council Meeting on Monday 17th December at 8.00pm in the Datchet Village Hall. Tennis Court reopened - Friday, August 31, 2012
We are delighted to inform you that the works to refurbish the Tennis Courts are complete. The works included preparing and resurfacing the present courts and applying 3 coats of a high quality acrylic colour coating in two shades of green. The Perimeter fencing was replaced with a PVC weldmesh fencing system, also in green. A new mowing margin with concrete kerb edges has been created outside the new fence line to keep the area weed free and looking smart. We hope that you will agree with us that this is a long awaited improvement. New equipment for play area - Wednesday, June 20, 2012
Consultation about possible new equipment for the play area took place at Datchet Village Hall on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 June.

River Thames jetties at Datchet - Monday, June 04, 2012
Datchet Parish Council has submitted a planning application (number 12/01139/FULL) to RBWM for construction of two replacement jetties and one new jetty on the River Thames at Datchet Riverside, Windsor Road, Datchet. The application is currently withdrawn while RBWM changes to materials are incorporated.
